Fourth Annual Fine Print Auction
The Fourth Annual Fine Print Auction provides funding for the
Weston Photography Scholarship Fund. Every year Weston Photography
Education Association gives out scholarship awards to high school
and college photography students of the Monterey County. This year
16 awards were given 2 - $1000 1st Place, 1 - $500 2nd Place, 1 -
$300 3rd Place and 12 - $200 Honorable Mention Awards.
Renowned Photographers (many from our very own Monterey Peninsula)
have generously donated their own photographs to our auction to
make this scholarship possible. With your continued support by
participating in bidding and purchasing prints, you have made our
scholarship program a dream come true.
To date Weston Photography Education Association has given over
$15,000 to local photography students!
Weston Photography Scholarship Awards
The Scholarship Award Winners and their winning photographs are
up, take a look and see some of the stunning photographs that
these students have made. This year there were a total of 50
portfolios submitted for judging. 16 were chosen for final
scholarships. The quality of work just keeps getting better every
year. The judging gets harder every year too.
Special thanks to Kim and Huntington Witherill for their help in
the judging.
Thanks to the students who worked really hard and submitted their
portfolios! Thanks to the wonderful photography teachers we have
in the Monterey County !!!

June Print of the Month
Kim Weston June Print of the Month; Oaxaca # 10, is up to view.
This image was taken during our last workshop in Oaxaca. Don't
forget we are inviting you all to come and join us in Oaxaca for
the Edward Weston/ Kim Weston Exhibition on November 1, 2007. Let
us know if you are interested in joining us. We won't be teaching
a workshop, just having fun and if you have ever wanted to go this
would be a great time. Edward/Kim Show
Upcoming Workshops
We are in the middle of our Large Format Workshop with Randy Efros
from Phoenix. We are having a great time, today we spent
photographing at Point Lobos then returning to Wildcat Hill to
develop negatives in Kim's and Edward's darkrooms. It is great to
see such an interest in learning the steps of using the larger
format cameras. Tomorrow it is in the darkroom with Kim to print
then out in the field again. Wish you were here!
We have 2 upcoming workshops Studio Nude II and The Platinum
Workshop with Ryuijie, now's the time to sign up for these fall
classes.
