Weston Photography Newsletter - June 2008

Greetings!

First note is to let everyone know that the fires in Big Sur CA are still burning and we have lost 16 homes. Please keep all of the people in CA in your thoughts these next few days.

The June Print of the Month is "Nude with Veil" 8x10 Silver Gelatin.

New Work/New Limited Edition Prints have been posted. This is from the Wildcat Shoot with Carrie Leigh and some of Kim's images are in the summer issue of Carrie Leigh's Nude Magazine.

The Weston Scholarship Competition and Exhibition was a huge success. To see the winners of this years competition please visit www.westonscholarship.org  The opening was well attended and the show at the Marjorie Evans Gallery in Carmel will be coming down tomorrow. So you have one more day to see it if you are in town. Thanks to all that attended.

May 13-19 Puebla Mexico
The trip down to Puebla Mexico was wonderful! In conjunction with the Edward/Kim Weston Fotografos Exhibition, Kim gave a talk at the museum, a radio interview and we taught a 4 day nude workshop in an abandoned textile factory! We were hosted by Arq. César Gordillo Aguilar the director of the museum and with the help of his staff and the UNARTE, UNIVERSIDAD del ARTE we had a marvelous time! Puebla is a much bigger city than Oaxaca. We didn't have a lot of time there but Kim did get to photograph a lot and he taught the participants how to print in Platinum. We ate great food, laughed a lot and all around had a wonderful experience. We look forward to working with Cesar again! Thanks to everyone in Puebla.

Zach won 2nd in the 200 free and 3rd in the 500 free at the MTAL Championships. He went up to the Central Coast Championships where he qualified for a relay, swimming the breast stroke. He is down south taking the CA lifeguard training this week! Good Luck Zach!
