This two-day workshop
offers a special opportunity for students to explore nude photography while
learning about the Weston family's historic contributions to fine art
photography. Among the highlights of this
workshop is a demonstration by Kim of an original Edward Weston negative,
"Spring
1943" the only negative left to Kim.
We will also take students on a scenic and
photographic tour of Point Lobos, where Edward made some of his most famous
images, lead a presentation and discussion of photography, showing original
prints by the Weston family and work closely with students as they
photograph nude models in Kim's studio or on the grounds of Wildcat Hill.
Participants are encouraged
to bring a portfolio of their work for sharing and discussion. Guests will
enjoy a Saturday-night dinner in Edward's home and a fireside discussion of
photography with an invited guest artist.
Students should bring their
own film and equipment. This workshop is open to all levels of experience
and to film and digital cameras.
