Dear Kim and Gina,
I wanted to thank you again for the incredible experience I had at your
workshop--I feel fortunate to have met you both.
I was on a high when I left Wildcat Hill for my drive back to San Francisco.
The photo session was great--I was charged with energy. Working with the
models was a rewarding experience. It was an opportunity for me to more
abstractly view the beauty of the female through the lens. I am really
curious to see how this will be reflected in the images I took. So to say
the very least, I was greatly inspired by your workshop and your company,
and what I gained is immeasurable.
All the best, Rob Unsworth
Hi all...
I've been meaning to write forever...but even with my bad manners, I still
want to thank Kim for a wonderful class here in Denver this past fall. I
enjoyed it tremendously! What an easy-going, gracious person he is. And it
was great to get to hear about his life, his work and his family, and to get
to see his images. I enjoyed the darkroom visit also...how refreshing to see
someone, with so little fuss, create such a beautiful print. I loved seeing
Kim develop his 8x10s by inspection also. What a treat! I was lucky enough
to have "won" a print from a negative by Kim's grandfather. When I got it I
was bowled over...how delicate and sensitive a print. I truly thank you all
for such a wonderful gift. I will cherish this print forever. Thanks again
for expanding my vision, sharing your time and energy with me, and sending
me such a great print. I think we're going to see you again next year if I'm
not mistaken(?).
I hope so... Take care and best to you.

Dear Kim and Gina:
We got home last night from Carmel. I MISS it already! However, the first
thing on my list of things to do was send you an email thanking both of you
for the WONDERFUL, EXCITING, FABULOUS time I had on my visit.
The 2 of you were most generous with your time. You made me feel so at home!
I¹m at a loss for words that can accurately describe the thrill your
workshop was for me. Being at the house, in the darkroom and touching
Edward¹s negative goes beyond description.
It was the most profound inspiration I have ever experienced!.
I have worked as a photographer for over 20 years. I have covered over a
dozen world series games, photographed 4 presidents, one Pope and many many
celebrities and national news events. None of those assignments compare to
spending the day at Wildcat Hill.
The art world in general and the photography world in particular, owe you a
great debt of gratitude for keeping the Weston dynasty alive.
I can't wait to process my 35mm film from the nude shoot, as well as seeing
the 8x10 sheets I exposed. I look forward to their arrival.
Hopefully, the next time we are in Carmel, I can stop by for another visit.
Again, thank you so VERY much for everything!!!!

Dear Gina & Kim,
Well, we are back home and in the memory relishing stage of yet another
beautiful time at Wildcat. It was nice to work in 8x10 and to finally learn
to use our 4x5. Please thank Randy again for all his help getting us
situated with our 4x5. We think he's a really neat guy with a lot of
patience. It was also really great to meet Al. We thoroughly enjoyed his
presentation and the trip to his studio and darkroom. It was an inspiration!
We were also very glad to see Cole. We learned a LOT! So many good things.
Thanks again for letting us stay at Bodie House.

Gina Kim and Zach-
Hi Guy's, wow where has all the time gone?? Sorry it has taken me this long
to get back to you. I want you to know how grateful I am that I was able to
stay at Wildcat with you all, and that you made feel like I was part of your
extended family. You are truly special!! Thank you. I also want you to know
that for me professionally, the four days with Cole and Kim attending their
workshop has been the most rewarding photographic experience of my life. I
want to know I told UCSC the same thing on my evaluation sheet! I look
forward to staying with you again.
Best wishes, Mark J Anderson San Francisco CA
Kim and Gina,
Thanks so much for everything during the workshop last week. I had pretty
high expectations and must say, that the workshop blew away all of them! I
am slowly working my way through 2,000+ images from my digital camera and
still have to develop 12 rolls of film.....but will be emailing some images
to you very soon. It was so much fun - and I can't wait until the next one!
Take care, Matt Artz Highland Ca
Dear Kim and Gina,
Just wanted to send you a letter telling how awesome your workshop was this
last weekend. From the time I got there you made us feel that we were all
part of your family. On the ride home I had a lot of time to reflect on the
whole workshop and came down to one word. WOW! The memories of us enlarging
some of your grandfather’s famous prints in his old darkroom, to the trip to
Point Lobos, where we ate lunch and took way to many pictures. Then later
that evening going back to your place to eat a fabulous dinner, sipping wine
and telling stories next to the fire outside on your patio. Not to mention
us shooting the nudes in your studio and around your fabulous place on
Sunday. It is something I will always remember. Not even to mention all of
the historic images you showed us. Once again WOW! Kim you are truly an
inspiration to me as you helped me a lot more than you think.

For me the workshop was a really positive experience. Learning new ways of
working and spending time with people who are passionate about the art of
photography, made it well worth the trip.
Thanks to you both for sharing your passion and energy with me.

Hope everyone had as much fun and education as I did. The food, company and
scenery were exemplary. Big thanks to Kim and Gina for their hospitality and
teaching.

It was a pleasure to meet and talk with you and Kim. I hope you know how
much I enjoyed the whole four day experience. You both put a tremendous
amount of effort into it and went way beyond the call of duty. Your
friendliness and care were obviously genuine and deeply appreciated. Thank
you so much.
Sincerely, Bob Dunlop UCSC Workshop
What a wonderful time we had during your workshop! It was great to get to
know you and see the work you are doing. It is an interesting process to go
through to honor the work of one’s father while establishing one’s own
career.
Thanks again for opening up your hearts and homes during the workshop.
Craig Blacklock
You are phenomenal hosts and have the knack for making a guy feel wanted. In
addition to the great company food and conversation, I found that I learned
even more from Kim and Reed’s presentations the second time around. Bottom
Line: I had a great time!
