Several years ago Kim and I started going to Al Weber's photography workshops. I felt the need to get out of our studio environment and have a little adventure. Al has been leading workshops for 40 years! And I didn't want to miss the opportunity to spend some time with him.
Photographer David Vestal was co-teaching with Al. We went to Eureka Dunes off of Hwy 395, I remember it to be the longest dirt road I have ever been on. It must have been at least 15 miles of the bumpiest washer board road. I thought our van was going to rattle apart. We met a wonderful group of photographers that we have gotten to know over the years. The last workshop we participated with Al was in 2009 at the San Miguel Mission.
