This summer will feature a variety of fine art nude photography workshops with Kim Weston and some of our closest friends! We hope you will take advantage of one or more of these opportunities to explore fine art nude photography while learning about the Weston family's historic roots.
May 19-21: Weston Nude Photography Workshop on Wildcat Hill
We will kick off the summer here on Wildcat Hill, Edward Weston's former home. This three-day workshop gives students the unique opportunity to explore nude photography and learn about the Weston family's historic contributions to fine art photography in the United States. Participants will photograph in multiple locations on the property in small groups with a photographer to model ratio of 3:1.
June 22-25 Creative Photo Academy Adventure to Wildcat Hill
We are thrilled to welcome Mark Comon and the Creative Photo Academy crew back to Wildcat this summer for a fine art nude photography workshop! This is an excellent opportunity to explore nude photography in small groups of 2 or 3 with two amazing instructors. Participants will learn to work as a team as well as receive valuable instruction about camera handling techniques, controlling of natural light, working with a model, and creating photos with emotional content.
Kim and Mark will provide individualized direction to help you learn and grow as a photographer.
July 1-7: Weston Destination Workshop in Germany
In early July we will be heading to the wooded low-mountain region of the Bavarian Forest in Germany for the opening of the 4 Generations of Weston Photography exhibition and a nude photography workshop! This destination workshop will feature a private gallery tour with Kim Weston who will take you on a journey through photographic history featuring his own work alongside Edward, Brett, and Zach Weston's photographs.
Participants will have the opportunity to photograph with fine art nude models among historic castle ruins and the infamous Burgruine Weißenstein und Gläserner Wald (Glass Forest) among other breathtaking locations.
August 11-13: Holz/Weston Workshop in New York
The second to last workshop of the summer is one that we have been hoping to host for years and couldn't be more excited to share with all of you. We will be collaborating with George Holz whose photographs have appeared in GQ, InStyle, Vanity Fair, Glamour, and Rolling Stone. Since George first visited Wildcat Hill as an admirer of Edward Weston's work, he and Kim have become close friends and photographic colleagues. This workshop will be held at Holz Farm in Phoenicia, New York where you’ll explore the natural textures of water, earth, wood, and sky as you combine nude and landscape photography. Most importantly, you’ll develop your visualization and directing skills as you work with models to develop trust.
