Weston Photography’s March Re-Cap

Introduction

It is springtime on Wildcat Hill, marked with beautiful sunny days and strong winds from the North-West. With all our rain, the grounds are incredibly lush, primed, and ready for our upcoming April Workshop. We are starting our 2023 Workshop season with a bang and can’t wait to welcome our group to Wildcat Hill. The April Workshop is new; one day, we will be venturing along the coastline to photograph implied nudes with our three unique models: Stephanie Sinn, Goblin Goddess, and CC Flight.

We have some exciting news! Kim and Zach Weston will start showing their work at the Ilkaa Fine Art Gallery in Akron, Ohio! A grand opening exhibition will be on April 29th to launch the newly opened gallery. On view will be silver gelatin photographs by Kim and Zach. The show will also feature oil paintings on silver gelatin prints by Kim. The show will be the first time the collaborative work between Kim and Zach is in an exhibit; the mixed media pieces are oil paintings by Kim on silver gelatin photographs taken and printed by Zach. All the photographs are large-scale silver gelatin darkroom prints developed and mounted on Wildcat Hill.

Zach has the fantastic opportunity to show a selection of his black and white silver gelatin abstract photographs that he has been working on at the Patricia Qualls Contemporary Art Gallery in Carmel. The reception will be from 5-7 pm on April 15th. His work is part of the current exhibition, “Human Nature | Nature Humans,” and centers on humans interacting with the natural world. Patricia believes Zach’s abstract work will add another element to the current exhibition.

Grand Opening Exhibition

We are excited to announce that the just-opened Ilkaa Fine Art Gallery in Akron, Ohio, will feature Kim and Zach in their first show. Presenting our silver gelatin photographs created using printing techniques passed down through four generations is an honor.

To celebrate the grand opening of the Ilkaa Fine Art Gallery, there will be an exhibition featuring Kim Weston, Zach Weston, Roman Loranc, Millie Franz, Azita Gandjei, and other notable photographers. Featured work includes silver gelatin and painted photographs by Kim Weston and silver gelatin photographs by Zach Weston. This will be the first exhibition featuring recent collaborations between Kim and Zach Weston. As seen above, Kim has been painting on Zach’s silver gelatin photographs. They are having a ton of fun working together in this creative way.

Zach Weston Featured in Carmel Gallery

Zach Weston will be featured in an ongoing exhibition at the Patricia Qualls Contemporary Art Gallery in Carmel on Saturday, April 15th, from 5-7 pm. The show is titled “Human Nature | Nature Humans” and explores the connection between humans and the natural world.

Zach has been working on a series of large-scale silver gelatin abstracts. The photos in the exhibit are darkroom prints made on Wildcat Hill (print size is 16 x 20 in.).

The exhibition opening of Zach’s work will be on April 15th from 5-7 pm at the Patricia Qualls Contemporary Art Gallery in Carmel, located at Mission St. between Ocean & 7th in Carmel, CA.

Fine Art Model Feature

Dane Halo is a 5’11” curvaceous freelancing art model originally from Toronto, planning a move to South San Francisco in 2023. She has been modeling full-time for 15 years and has traveled far and wide to collaborate with artists around the globe. Dane is an artist through and through, exploring various media throughout her lifetime, from sculpture and lino printmaking to makeup and film photography.

We will have Dane Halo at our Wildcat Studio Nude Workshop in September, and we are very excited to work and collaborate with her!
