Edward Weston believed that "photography [was] a poor man's art and anyone who wants to own a print should be able to" which is why he, with his last wife Charis Wilson, began producing Prints of the Month.
As per family tradition, every month for the last 18 years, Kim and Gina release an 8x10 silver gelatin Print of the Month (POM) for a special price which can be purchased individually or as part of the year's POM Portfolio.
III & IV
As we near the end of 2023, we would like to take time to reflect on the past year and all the wonderful art that was created. We hold the tradition of the Print of the Month close to our heart as it has been passed down through generations of Weston photographers. Kim and Zach have had an amazing time collaborating on the Print of the Month Portfolio the past few years and feel this partnership in the arts is an extremely special bond they have formed.
Kim has continually been providing insight to Zach along his photographic journey which has shaped and molded his photographic style. Zach is so appreciative to have such an amazing mentor to help him with his artistic vision. He feels he has the power to develop his own artistic voice with added influence of his family's photographic roots.
We are excited to announce that our 2023 Print of the Month Portfolio will feature photographs by both Kim and Zach Weston centered around the theme of water. Water is a crucial element in both the lives of Kim and Zach. Kim grew up sailing and Zach grew up and continues to surf along our beautiful Monterey Bay coastline. We frequent Monterey Bay to fish and forage for mussels when the tide is low enough.
We would like to offer a private dinner for Print of the Month members on Wildcat Hill for members in 2023. Wildcat Hill has always been a hub for gatherings of all walks of artists. Many of our supporters are artists themselves which we love to see. We believe having a dinner would be something Edward would most definitely approve of. Kim and Zach will create a wonderful home cooked meal as we share stories in Edward Weston's former home and sit around the dinner table made by Brett Weston. We hope you will renew your membership and continue with us on this artistic path. Please let us know if you would like to continue and how you would like to receive your Print of the Month prints in 2023. We are so excited to share these beautiful silver gelatin photographs with you. Thank you and Happy New Year!
The Print of the Month portfolio was established by Edward Weston as a way for his collectors to purchase prints at a lower cost and for Edward to fund his photography passion. We look to continue this tradition in the legacy of Edward Weston with the photography works from Kim and Zach Weston. The Print of the Month is a great way for collectors to add fine art silver gelatin photography to their collection and to collect a piece of photographic history.
