Kim and I returned from our 2017 Weston Destination Workshop in Germany inspired by our immersion in German culture and hearts full with the memories we made.
We were met at the Munich airport with such a surprise! Friedrich (Fritz) Saller showed up in Brett Weston's Volkswagen bus! The Weston Four Generations show logo was stenciled on the side! The workshop commenced with the opening of the exhibition: Weston 4 Generations: Classics of Modern American Photography at Kunsträume Grenzenlos in Bayerisch Eisenstein. It is located on the border of southeast Germany and the Czech Republic and will be up until October 22, 2017.
The workshop was a huge success with fine art photographers and models that joined us from all over the world, Germany, Scotland, Spain, Italy, and the USA! We had the privilege of photographing in 4 amazing locations and spent time at Fritz's home too!
We were thrilled with the work that came out of this workshop, both from the participants and from Kim. It was the first time we worked with Anastasia Arteyeva and Chiara Bianchino, who made Weston Workshop debuts in Germany. They were joined by Gwen, a Weston Workshop veteran, who we were so happy to have join us there. A huge thank you to Fritz, Gaby, Gwen, Anastasia, Chiara and all of the photographers too!
