Bodie House at Wildcat Hill & News
Are you planning for some time off? Come and stay at Wildcat Hill in Bodie House this summer! The season is in full swing. What a great spring we have had so far. We had 2, 4 Generation Weston Shows hung consecutively at the same time, one at Viewpoint Gallery in Sacramento and one at the Scott Nichols Gallery in San Francisco. Both shows came down on June 4. We hope you had a chance to see some of the photographs. Thank you to the Viewpoint Gallery and to the Scott Nichols Gallery. And thanks to all that attended!
We have taught 2 Nude Photo Workshops, where we made some wonderful images, photographed with some talented artists and worked with our talented models, Jennifer Jones, Sara Streeter and a new model, Marian Liddell. It was a great experience.

Printing in Edward Weston's Darkroom
Have you always wanted to visit Wildcat Hill and see Edward Weston's Darkroom? Here is your chance! In this 25-minute video Kim takes you into Edward Weston’s original darkroom and shows you the very simple techniques that Edward used throughout his life - a historical journey back in time to see how this master used basic tools to make incredible art.
This negative called “Spring” was photographed at Wildcat Hill in 1943. The nude in the photo is Charis Wilson, Edward’s last wife. Edward Weston photographed many wonderful photographs of Charis around his home during the 1940’s.
Edward Weston Photographs - Early Years
Have you had a chance to read more about Edward Weston? We have a Edward Weston Chronology page, EDWARD HENRY WESTON, 1886 - 1958 - A Detailed Chronology, Compiled and Edited by Dick Rinehart. Here you can read about Edward and his life. I have added some photos to this post for you to enjoy! Stay tuned for more historical family photographs!
Nude Workshop Photographs to Share
We would like to share some thoughts and photographs from our new friend Jerry White, after he attended The Weston Nude Photography Workshop in May 2015. We have so many talented photographers that join us every year for our nude photography workshops. I will be sharing more with you in the next few weeks. If you have photographs from a previous workshop contact me and we will get some posted. Come and join us in October at The Weston Nude Workshop or The Desert Resort Figure Workshop and make some new photographs with us!
In Celebration of the Black and White Print Video
We hope you enjoy this video. Epson came to our home and interviewed Kim about Black and White Photography and his life experiences. "Journey to the home of Edward Weston and see his original darkroom. Then listen to his grandson Kim talk about his photographic heritage workshops and his own highly collected traditional Black-and-White work. To many, Black-and-White is the very definition of photography. In addition to a series of tutorials on digital Black-and-White printing, we are honored to present in-depth interviews from two photographic icons (John Sexton) who work with traditional Black-and-White tools. Their incredible insight provides inspiration to us all as we celebrate the Black-and-White print, be it traditional or digital". Thank you Dano!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Greetings! As the year comes to a close, Kim and I wanted to take the time to thank you all! What an amazing year 2014 was! We completed our 2014 Print of the Month Portfolio! A big thank you to our loyal Print of the Month Subscribers! We just mailed out our final December photograph with the handmade Portfolio Box and Cover sheet. More....

Fun at September Wildcat Studio Nude Workshop
We had a really great time at the 2014 September Wildcat Studio Nude workshop this last weekend. We had a few returnees, which is always a good testimonial! We met several new photographers and 3 out of the 9 students were women. That made a nice mixing of the groups. In a predominantly male industry, we love having the opportunity to have women photographers participate in our nude workshops.
