A space just opened up in the last Wildcat Workshop of the year featuring models Gwen, Jen, and, a new model to Weston Workshops, Sekaa! Join us September 8-10, 2017 for a 3-day photography intensive at Edward Weston's former home in Carmel Highlands, CA where you can expect to be inspired, supported, and expertly instructed while exploring fine art nude photography.
Gina and Kim Weston landed in Germany this morning, just in time for "Weston 4 Generations: Classics of Modern American Photography" and a Weston Destination Workshop!
Remember when we shared those behind the scenes photos from Kim Weston's most recent photoshoot at Wildcat with you? Well, here are a few of his favorite silver gelatin prints from that morning with Gwen, Monique, and Jenn. We hope you love them as much as we do.
The 2016 May Print of the Month "Floating Nude" was photographed during our 2015 Nude Photo Workshop in Barcelona, Spain on the rooftop of Casa Milà better known as La Pedrera. Casa Milà is probably one of the most famous buildings of the Catalon Art Nouveau period and one of Antoni Gaudi's most ambitious works. It is a container that is a work of art in itself. "La Pedrera" has a catalogue of top level art exhibitions and events all year round, as well as a program of shows, lecture seasons and debates that set the tone for a dynamic, changing society. It is also a place where knowledge and learning are the keys to the construction of a rich, dynamic future society.
The June Print of the Month was also made on our 2013 visit to France. We are moving right along with our POM's this year. Already in the 6th month - half way through. May was a busy month. After returning from Barcelona we came directly home to judge our 2015 Weston Scholarship Portfolio Contest - to hanging the show in the Marjorie's Evans Gallery to giving the awards to the recipients. Then straight into our first Wildcat Studio Nude which was a blast and then hosting another workshop 2 weeks later. We met some new photographers and saw some old friends too. The workshop was amazing with enough time to produce some excellent images. They have been coming to me by email and I hope to share some soon. Our next Wildcat Studio Nude Workshop here at the house is October 23-25.
We have another really cool workshop that you may be interested in attending - Desert Resort Figure Workshop coming up October 1-6, 2015, it's in Desert Hot Springs. We are going to take over the whole resort at Anahata Hot Springs (serene mineral water spa) and make it our own private studio set, there is a pool and hot mineral pool there too. We could do some cool underwater photography amongst other fun things! In the afternoon we will go and photograph out in Joshua Tree National Park. Why don't you join us? We would love to have you. It will be 4 days of creative, collaborative fun!
