Weston Photography's September Figure Workshop
We wrapped up our 2024 workshop season with a stellar group of photographs and models. We photographed two full days at our home on Wildcat Hill and a day down in beautiful Big Sur. We loved the smaller group size of only three models and six photographers. During the three days, each photographer got ample time to work through their artistic ideas with the models. We want to thank our incredible models, Jennifer Jones, Dane Halo, and Seraphina, for their amazingly hard work during the workshop. These three exemplify professionalism and are such fun to work with. The quality of work that came out of the workshop is evident in how well they pose and interact with the photographers. We can’t wait to work with them again next year.
Working with the same models consistently only enhances the work created at our workshops. Figure photography is all about trust, and building that trust with a model over many sessions can be seen in the heightened quality of the images. Another interesting point a photographer mentioned is that the models are familiar with our locations and know how to interact with the landscape at a higher level than a model new to the scene. They know how the light will move throughout the day, what objects can be moved, and how to bridge that gap between figure and landscape.
The group of photographers worked together very well, and honestly, we all didn’t stop laughing over the three days. It was a real treat to close out our season with this group. It was awesome to see the work evolve over the days as they were able to dive deeper into their artistic minds and flush out the ideas they wanted to express. We can’t wait to share their images with you!
