For the past 14 years, Kim has been applying artist quality oil paints to his silver gelatin photographs. In addition to applying paint to his signature nude series, he has applied paint to his ballerina series, heavily influenced by the painter Degas. Painters have been a major influence in Weston’s photography and Degas is definite influential standout for him.

The party will be held following the opening of Roman's upcoming show at the CPA, Poetry of the Lens and is limited to 10 guests.

This summer, Kim and I had the opportunity to attend the opening of a gorgeous exhibition, Weston 4 Generations: Classics of Modern American Photography at Kunsträume Grenzenlos in Bayerisch Eisenstein.

In 2016, the tour will take place in Peninsula and Coastal locations on September 24 & 25; and in Salinas, Salinas Valley, and North County locations on October 1 & 2. Are you planning for some time off? Come and stay at Wildcat Hill in Bodie House this summer! The season is in full swing. What a great spring we have had so far. We had 2, 4 Generation Weston Shows hung consecutively at the same time, one at Viewpoint Gallery in Sacramento and one at the Scott Nichols Gallery in San Francisco.Both shows came down on June 4. We hope you had a chance to see some of the photographs. Thank you to the Viewpoint Gallery and to the Scott Nichols Gallery. And thanks to all that attended!
We have taught 2 Nude Photo Workshops, where we made some wonderful images, photographed with some talented artists and worked with our talented models, Jennifer Jones, Sara Streeter and a new model, Marian Liddell. It was a great experience.

The Weston Scholarship will be giving out the awards at 6PM. The show is open to the public at 6PM.

Joining the Alumni will be local photographers, Kim Weston, Roman Loranc, Huntington Witherill, Ryuijie, Chuck Davis, Kevin Bransfield, Greg Mettler, Claire Lerner, Jerry Takigawa, Cole Thompson, Jim Kasson, Brian Taylor and Rick Murai. The contributions from this supporting group of professional photographers comes in many forms, from teaching our students in our local schools and darkrooms, donating money to our fund, to donating prints to our fine art auction fundraisers. We are proud of our program and hope you will enjoy the show that we are bringing to you.

Cristina Iturrioz, Paul Jones, Mille Kalsmose-Hjelmborg, Fran Marti, Juan Mas-Baga, Friedrich Saller, Miguel Soler-Roig, Michou Von Beschwitz, Kim Weston and Philip Young. In 2014 they followed the route that Washington Irving made in Andalusia, nearly two centuries ago. This route runs through the steps followed in 1829 by the romantic American writer and diplomat, fascinated by the wealth and exoticism of the Spanish-Muslim culture. After being exhibited in Tarragona, Barcelona and Ibiza, the show now arrives to Seville in its second year of scheduled tour around Spain, in museums and institutions.
