Kim Weston (b. 1953)“Painting is a physical act; photography has a tendency to be very craft driven, very precise. The camera records real things. I would much rather photograph reality and paint it the way I want it. In painting, I can attack the surface, creating what could only occur in my imagination or my dreams. It gives me the opportunity to invent colors, make shadows blue, to make things different.”

Center for Creative Photography
In February Kim and Zach flew out to Phoenix for a week long of Photography related events. Kim and Randy Efros gave a gallery talk/tour on the Brett Weston (1911-1993) and Sonya Noskowiak (1900-1975) Exhibition. They had such good attendance they had to move the venue to a bigger lecture hall, they showed work at a private home In-Salon gathering.
ATT Pebble Beach National Pro Am
We walked on Carmel Beach this morning because the AT& T Pro Am was being played on the Pebble Beach golf course. You can see the tournament from the beach! Golfers always lose their golf balls in the high grass on the 4th hole (I think that is correct), it's the last hole on the north end of the beach. Its fun to watch them search for their balls and try and hit them back on the course.

Come join us at the San Miguel Mission for a truly memorable photographic experience. Founded in 1797, Mission San Miguel is a National Historical Landmark that has been an important part of Central Coast history for over 200 years. Come experience the rich history of Mission San Miguel. During the workshop we will have access to roam freely in areas the mission normally restricts to the public. There is so much to see and photograph on and around the grounds.
Tania Cernochova, Slovakia - Visiting Wildcat Hill
Last month while I was doing my morning walk in the rain at Carmel River beach, I ran into Tania, she was wet and carrying a large back pack. She was "couch surfing" down to Los Angeles with her next stop down the coast past Big Sur. I offered her a place to dry off and keep her stuff safe and then drove her back to Point Lobos to spend the day. Hi Gina, this is Tania, the girl you brought home on that rainy day at the beginning of November, remember?:)
